Why side glass is different

A broken window is a cleanup job as much as a glass job.

Side and rear windows are tempered safety glass. When they break they don't crack, they burst into a thousand little cubes that end up in the door cavity, the seats, the carpet, and the door speaker. A proper replacement means clearing every piece out before the new glass goes in, so you're not finding shards for a month. That cleanup is part of the job here, not an afterthought.

What we replace

Every window that isn't the windshield.

If it's glass and it's on your vehicle, it's on this list. Tell us which one and we'll price it off the year, make, and model.

Doors

Door & side windows

The one that shattered, or the one that won't go back up. Tempered glass, cut and fit to your vehicle.

Rear

Back glass

The rear window, including the ones with a defroster grid or antenna. We reconnect both.

Small

Quarter & vent glass

The small fixed panes at the corners and the little vent windows. Odd shapes most shops won't take.

Mirrors

Side mirrors

Mirror glass and full mirror housings, driver and passenger side.

How it goes

Broken to back-together, same visit.

01

Tell us the vehicle & the glass

Year, make, model, and which window. A photo helps us confirm the exact glass and whether it has a defroster grid or antenna.

02

We price it and schedule

Common glass is often in stock for same-day or next-day work. Odd panes take a little longer, and we'll tell you how soon.

03

We clear it out and fit the new glass

Every last cube of broken tempered glass out of the door and the interior, then the new window set, aligned, and tested.

04

You drive away secure

Defroster and antenna reconnected, the window rolling the way it should, and the car locked up tight again.

Most people only need an auto glass shop once, usually after a rough day. These are the customers who took the time to leave a review anyway.

Replaced my old rusty but trusty van windshield when other auto glass companies told me it couldn't be done.

★★★★★ Side glass · under an hour

Passenger side window on a Hyundai got cracked, they replaced it in less than an hour. Very professional and friendly. Highly recommend them.

★★★★★ Quoted 45 min · took 20

the back hatch glass replaced on my mini van. They said over the phone that it would take about 45 min to complete the work, but it only took them about 20 min, and it was done!

Do you replace door windows and back glass, not just windshields?

Yes. We replace door glass, back glass, quarter glass, vent glass, and side mirrors on cars, trucks, and vans, along with windshields. If it's glass on your vehicle, we can replace it.

How much does side or rear glass cost?

It depends on the vehicle and which window. A common door glass is usually well under the cost of a windshield, while back glass with a defroster or an unusual pane can run more. Tell us the year, make, and model and which window, and you'll get a real number before anything is ordered.

Will you clean up all the broken glass?

Yes, and it matters more than people expect. Tempered glass shatters into hundreds of small cubes that fall into the door cavity, the seats, and the carpet. Clearing every piece out before the new glass goes in is part of the job here, so you're not finding shards weeks later.

Why did my car window shatter into tiny pieces?

Side and rear windows are tempered safety glass, which is built to break into small blunt pieces instead of sharp shards when it fails. That's why a broken door window turns into a pile of little cubes. It's by design, and cleaning it out of the door and the interior is part of the job when we replace it.

My back glass has the defroster lines. Can you replace it?

Yes. A lot of back glass has a rear defroster grid printed on it, and some have an antenna. We replace the glass and reconnect those so the defroster and antenna work the way they did before.

How fast can you replace a side window?

Often the same day if we have the glass. One customer had a passenger-side window replaced in under an hour, and another had back-hatch glass done in about 20 minutes after being quoted 45. Call 616-396-3487 with the year, make, and model and we'll tell you the soonest we can get you in.

My window fell down into the door and won't come up. Is that the glass?

Sometimes the glass is fine and the part that lifts it, the regulator, has failed. Bring it by and we'll tell you whether you're looking at broken glass, a mechanical problem, or both, before anything is ordered.

Does insurance cover a broken side or rear window?

Comprehensive coverage often covers broken auto glass, including side and rear windows, minus your deductible. We help you get the claim set up, and from there we handle it. Bring your insurer and policy and we'll tell you what your claim covers before the glass is ordered.
